Returning to Blog Land - Revision

Updated 04/28/25.

Made some decisions regarding my blog.

I believe in God.  I believe and trust in His word.  I believe He is a prayer answering God. I talk about His goodness. I am a Christian, not perfect, just forgiven and attempting to live day by day being real, honest, genuine, in spite of my flaws and shortcomings, in sincerity. To separate me from that is not something I am on board with.  You do you.  I will do me.

I reformatted the layout of my blog. I will no longer be doing progress posts on my work. Accessing my works in progress (WIPs) and finishes can be done through links listed on the right hand side of my blog.

My blog shares my work with needle and thread - handstitched or machine sewn. Needle and thread work will include work that I have done by hand - counted cross stitching, crewel and embroidery and work done using my sewing machine - 18" doll clothes, baby garments, quilts, project bags, crafting related sewing.

I may share about my current and prior sewing areas - sewing room and cross stitch set up where I did/do my counted cross stitching or machine sewing to show how they changed over time along with pictures of my fur buddy, Tiggy, a red ginger farm feral I adopted as a kitten in 2020.  I've always owned cats and have had some pretty special ones down through the years so pictures of those special fur buddies may be shared as well.

I enjoy doing 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles. I will share my completed puzzles in the same way as I do my handstitched or machine sewn work.  Accessing those finishes can be done through links found on the right hand side bar.

Work (finishes - either handstitched or machine sewn) shown on prior blog posts will be reposted.  It will take a bit of time as I am working with a new laptop and locating downloaded files from my old laptop.  My old laptop was outdated, slow and difficult at times to work with.

Things that will not be posted on my blog:

Political content. I do not want that on my blog. Prayers are needed for our nation, our world.  My blog will be my happy place where I will share what I am doing with needle, thread and fabric.

halloween and santa claus.  I don't handstitch or machine sew designs using those themes.  I enjoy fall and harvest time and like to see fields being harvested, bales of hay and mounds of pumpkins but other stuff that is associated with the month of October...no.  I like the nativity and have a beautiful ceramic set in my curio cabinet. I love what the holiday season represents during Christmas time such as the birth of the Christ child, sentiments like joy, hope, peace and love. I love the winter season with things such as snow, holly, evergreens and the one-horse open sleigh. I enjoy the sounds of the season such as the Christmas music and carols along with the festive smells and sights of the holiday season. I have stitched a Stoney Creek nativity themed piece.

I will not provide a way of contacting me regarding my blog and have reasons for that.  With my former blog I did and had times where I was so inundated with emails that it was overwhelming. My personality is such I like to be with people but need my alone time, my personal space time to regroup and recharge.  With the emails I felt that if I didn't respond I was letting people down and that bothered me, it got to me.  I will share my work and let others see what I am doing but am choosing no contact.  With the work that I share, I will provide enough information about the project that if a person wants to do it, they will be able to search it out and find it.

Something else in the same camp so to speak is comments.  I appreciate them and they are nice but I am not one for having that sort of thing on my blog.  Same with numbers and followers.  Am not into numbers or growing a following.  I feel if you like what I share and it is something that interests you, great and you will come back to have a lookie see.  If not, not a problem.  There's plenty of other websites "out there" you can visit.

My work is my own.  I've had my work and techniques copied, not credited back to me, published and labeled or shared as their own!!  Same goes for floss tubers. I don't mind you sharing my work on your social media sites, all I ask is allow me to have the credit for DOING the work or developing the technique, not you.  Thank you.  Having said that, I get that won't always happen and doesn't happen but I can and have asked.

On the same line of thought, I am me. I'm going to be me with this blog. I will speak and write and be myself. I will share what is on my heart and feel led to share in the way and manner that I feel led to share. Again, I'm going to be me using my voice to share a talent and an ability that I praise God for giving me. It's not my work as in my ability, it's God blessing me to do what I enjoy doing. He provides the materials, the ability to do each project and the joy in the journey while working towards a completed finish. It's God, not me, and for that I praise Him and I thank Him for He truly is a good God.

Those are the biggies for you to know.

Additional information is I am not going to say when I will do posts.  I deal with fibromyalgia and type 2 diabetes.  I have good days.  I have not so good days.  I don't want to feel pressured to meet a deadline or schedule.  I will post when I have something to share, something to say. Also along the same lines as in posting I don't do Facebook, Instagram, Twitter now X, YouTube, TikTok or any other social media platform. Don't know how and really don't want to learn. I no longer frequent the 123 message board. Had enough of the bullies and constant references to a select group of self-proclaimed "experts." My thought on that is if you thread a needle of any sort and work with fabric in whatever format - hand stitching or machine sewing, you do your thing and enjoy the journey.  We all can contribute our knowledge and share in this big ole' community of stitchers and sewers and be equally acknowledged for our contributions.  I blog and that's enough for me.

I will make mistakes with my grammar, spelling and punctuation in spite of trying hard to be thorough in proofing my posts before they are published.  Please be kind and forgiving with your thoughts.

Oh, almost forgot. I have a tendency to be somewhat of a perfectionist. I will write something, post it and then later go back and tweak it. Bear that in mind when you read a post or visit my blog. Some things will remain constant. Some things will change and evolve.
